He started screaming the moment I showed up.
When I first arrived, this toddler made his feelings very clear. Logan took one look at me and ran. Full speed. Screaming. Straight in the other direction. As a Houston Newborn Photographer, I was a little nervous how this would play out. But honestly, that moment set the tone in the best way.

The Suraci Family is in a full season of life right now. A newborn still so tiny and fresh. A toddler with big opinions and even bigger energy. Two Golden Retrievers weaving in and out, adding their own excitement. Their home felt lived in, loud, and full of love. Exactly as it should.
Instead of rushing in with a camera, we slowed everything down. There was no pressure to perform. No expectation to smile or cooperate right away. We let Logan take his time. He watched from a distance. He stayed close to his people. He decided when he was ready.
And then, right around that fifteen minute mark, something shifted.

Logan came closer. He smiled. He started to play. Before long, this 2.5 year old was my little bestie. My Houston Newborn photographer heart was overjoyed.
We played together. He showed me his toys. He gave hugs like we had known each other forever. We walked outside to look at his new Mickey and Minnie Halloween decorations and talked about everything we saw, including the squirrels. He laughed. He relaxed. We had the best time. And the photos followed naturally after that.
Those moments became the heart of the session.

The pace stayed gentle from start to finish. There was space for feeding the baby and diaper changes. Space for calming, settling moments. Space for dogs being dogs. That patience made everyone feel at ease, and it shows in the images.
What I love most about this gallery is how honest it feels. The photos capture true, genuine moments. Nothing forced. Nothing overly posed. They represent this family perfectly. A little chaotic. Very real. Overflowing with love.

This season of life is beautifully full. A newborn, a 2.5 year old toddler, two dogs, and a house that is rarely quiet. The images reflect exactly that. They show connection. They show movement. They show hands reaching and bodies leaning in. They show how much love lives inside this family, even when things feel busy and messy.
The calm throughout the session allowed everyone to just be themselves. Logan felt safe enough to warm up. Olivia was held and soothed. The dogs were welcomed instead of managed. That calm created space for real moments to unfold.

By the end, it was clear how special this experience felt. Every part of it exceeded expectations. From the way Logan and the family were guided to the way the story came together, it felt joyful and easy. The kind of experience you want to return to again and again.

These are the images that you cherish now and only get sweeter with time. The ones that bring you back to what life felt like, not just what it looked like. The chaos. The love. The fullness of this season.
Thank you, Vanessa and Nick, for trusting me with your amazing little family. Thank you for welcoming me into your home and letting me capture the love you share in this season. This session will always stand out to me because it was honest, playful, and full of heart. And I got myself a new little best friend 🙂

If you’re reading this and seeing your own life reflected here, know this. Your kids do not need to be perfectly behaved. Your house does not need to be quiet. All you need is patience, presence, and a willingness to let moments unfold. Those are the memories worth holding onto.
