There is something so sacred about the season right before a new baby arrives.
It feels slow and fast at the same time. Your heart is stretching. Your hands are still full. And you know life is about to change in the most beautiful way.

Heather stepped onto the front porch of Mason Home in Tomball wearing a white dress with the softest blue florals. It was one of those pieces that moves gently when you walk. Light. Feminine. Spring wrapped into fabric. The kind of dress that photographs like a dream against pastel florals and soft sunlight.

The restored home was glowing that morning. Pots overflowing with blooms. A wicker chair wrapped in flowers. The sun rising up in the most beautiful way. Everything felt soft and intentional. Like the setting itself knew this was a moment worth honoring.

Hayes stayed nice and close to her at first. Shy, wide-eyed, waving hi and scanning the sky for airplanes. He is one and a half, which means he is still very much her baby. Still cuddly. Still happiest tucked into her side.
And that is exactly how the session unfolded.

He held her hand as they walked across the porch. He leaned in for slobbery kisses. At one point, his tiny toes pressed right up against her cheek while she laughed and held him close. The details were everything. His little fingers. The way his head fit under her chin. The way she looked at him like she was memorizing it all.
Because she is.

Heather is also carrying baby sister. Her hands are full, and her heart is preparing to grow again. There is something so tender about documenting this exact chapter. The one where it is still just the two of them in their everyday rhythm. The one-on-one time. The quiet before the beautiful shift.

I prompted Hayes to look for baby sister and give her a kiss. Heather laughed and shared that he always looks for her under her shirt. Within seconds, he tried lifting up her dress to find her. We all giggled. It was innocent and precious and completely unplanned.

One day, she will look back on that image and remember the way he searched for his baby sister with such curiosity and love. She will remember the porch. The sunshine. The way he fit perfectly in her arms while she carried another life inside her.

This is what I mean when I talk about savoring a season.

Motherhood is layered. You are holding the child who made you a mother while growing the next one who will change everything again. You are soaking in tiny toes and toddler giggles while preparing your heart for a new cry in the night. It is holy work. It is Kingdom work. It is beautiful and fleeting all at once.
Heather told me afterward that it was so much fun. That she was thankful. I could see it in her face before she even said the words. There is a release that happens when you allow yourself to step fully into the frame and let someone else carry the details. When you realize you do not have to orchestrate the moment. You just get to live it.

These images are not just for her.
They are for Hayes. For baby sister. For the day they sit side by side and see how deeply they were loved in this in-between season. They will see their mama glowing in spring light, holding one baby while carrying another, savoring both.

That is the heart behind the Motherhood Portrait Event on April 18th at Mason Home.
Floral. Light and airy. Designed to celebrate the season you are in right now, whether you are chasing a toddler, growing a baby, or doing both at the same time.

There are only two spots left, and it is almost completely sold out.
